This blogger took a break to visit grandbabies in North Carolina, so the following is a set of photos showing progress for the first half of this month on the east end of the bridge.

Construction went from exposing the tops of the 80-foot deep pilings, to encasing them with concrete...

...to the building of forms which appear to be the support for the span on the east end of the bridge.

It is quite the muddy mess especially after the heavy rains of April 14 and 15!
