It is surreal to see a crane amongst the trees out our window!
Panels were finished off with a rubber-like mat which will form the design on the concrete walls of the bridge piers.
These panels were lifted into place on the concrete footing poured earlier this month. There are three panels set apart from each other, leaving a blank area between them.
Along with a lot of rebar work, things are set for cement trucks to come fill the gap between the panels and "pillows" of dirt.
Utility workers buried conduit in the center of the road. It connects to the utility pole which graces our view toward the street!
Thunder and lightning on July 16th cut short any work with the crane. After a visible streak of cloud-to-cloud lightning occurred directly above the construction site, the crane was lowered and workers stood in the rain waiting for the storm to pass.
The concrete boom pump truck arrived early on Friday morning, followed by cement trucks. Only three panels are completed at a time, Otherwise, it is too heavy. The panels will be re-used several times to complete the concrete fascia walls. This process could take a few days.
